Her biggest break for her career was in 1992 when she was a role in the movie Basic Instinct. The Firm was the film in which she was the lead female for the first time and for the only moment. This was opposite Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman as well as others. Through the 1990s, Gwyneth was a co-star with Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values.
